Annie LePage : Poker Player

Hey everyone... this time our Tenoreporter met a lady poker player coming from Quebec : the sweet Annie LePage

Yves Baron : Hi, Dear Annie, can you please introduce yourself ? how have you discovered poker ?

Annie LePage : I’m Annie LePage, I reside in Las Vegas, Nevada. I have been playing poker for 5 years now. It started out as a hobby on the internet and soon became a passion. I am a jeweler by trade but when my poker income exceeded my salary, I decided to go professional and have been for the last 2 years. I mainly play live games now and can be regularly found playing various games at The Bellagio, Wynn and the Venetian.

Yves Baron : As our website, you are bilingual French English. How come ?

Annie LePage : I was born in Quebec City, Canada. My first language is French. Quebec people are very proud of their French heritage and English is hardly spoken there in fact I only learnt English when I came to America.

Yves Baron : How does a young woman like you impose herlsef in the Poker industry ?

Annie LePage : Lol! Yes! The poker industry is very male dominated! A lot of men actually believe that a woman can only play ABC poker; therefore, the fact that I can vary my game can actually be an advantage. People also like conversing with me and I can get a lot of information that they may not share with the male players.

Yves Baron : Where do you travel for your career? What are the most inspring places for you ?

Annie LePage : Well I live in Las Vegas which is the poker Mecca of the world and I mainly play cash games, I have not been traveling so much. However this year I am planning on playing more major tournaments and will be doing more of the circuit. I love Paris and l am planning on going to Europe after the WSOP and look forward to play at the Aviation Club de France.
The Bellagio has been very aspiring, in Las Vegas; it’s the center of the poker scene. You get the biggest selection of games with many of the top talent there everyday.

Yves Baron : Who have you met during your experience?

Annie LePage : I know most of the top players; in fact we do get together quite often. You can actually follow a little of my life on a weekly basis from my Facebook.

Yves Baron : What turns you on and who inspires you on a daily basis ?

Annie LePage : I love the freedom and the friendships poker has given me. I also love the challenge. It can be difficult from time to time, with poker as a job; you can work very hard all day and end up losing money. However, when you are on your game and make the correct decisions, poker can be very lucrative. In general I get my inspirations from all the top pros. I have a few closer friends that are great players and I love watching and learning from them.

Yves Baron : Who do you want to thank for the end of this interview ?
How can we find you on the web ?

Annie LePage : I am always thankful for my friends and family, without their support I wouldn’t be where I am now.
I can be found on Facebook and on Myspace.
